Booking an x-ray

Please note this service is for x-rays only - Ultrasound, CT & MRI scans will continue to be appointed by radiology admin teams. X-rays requested by dentists (OPG x-rays) are not suitable to book on this portal, these will continue to be appointed by radiology staff.  Chest Xray requests do not need an appointment.

The signed x-ray referral form that you have received from your doctor needs to be brought with you when you attend for your appointment. This must be a paper copy and not on your phone.  This is vital – without it we will not be able to perform your x-ray.

This booking service is available at the following hospitals across East Kent:

William Harvey Hospital - Ashford Royal Victoria Hospital - Folkestone
Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital - Margate Buckland Hospital - Dover
Kent & Canterbury Hospital - Canterbury Victoria Hospital - Deal
Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital - Herne Bay Faversham Medical Practice - Faversham

Dependent on the examination, you may be asked to change into a hospital gown prior to your examination.

Whilst every endeavour will be made to see you at your appointment time, please be aware we run an inpatient, A&E and Minor Injuries service alongside our GP service so there may be a short delay depending on workload when you arrive.

Results
Following the examination, the report from the x-rays will be sent directly to your doctor. This will usually be within 10 days.
Please contact your doctor if you have not received your results after this time.

What if I need to change my appointment?
Within the confirmation text message and email that you will receive as part of the booking confirmation, there is the facility to reschedule or cancel your appointment. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule as soon as possible to allow the appointment to be available to other patients.
